Ontario Power Engineering

Power engineer certification in Ontario is regulated by TSSA (Technical Standards and Safety Authority). Ontario uses the term "Operating Engineer" and credentials are transferable through SOPEEC.

Lambton College
Sarnia. Features Ontario's only 107 KW power generation training plant. Prepares for 4th, 3rd, and 2nd Class.
Georgian College
Barrie. Only Ontario college with nuclear-enhanced curriculum. 2-year Advanced Diploma with Co-op.
Conestoga College
Kitchener. Advanced Diploma program covering 4th and 3rd Class certification levels.
Mohawk College
Hamilton. TSSA-accredited 4th Class certificate program with reduced operator time pathway.
Cambrian College
Sudbury. Hands-on learning in TSSA-registered power plant. 4th Class program.
St. Clair College
Windsor. TSSA accredited for 4th, 3rd, and 2nd Class certification. One of only 3 colleges in Canada accredited for 2nd Class.
Fanshawe College
London / St. Thomas. 4th Class program aligned with SOPEEC syllabus. Lab work at Western University Power Plant.
